William R. "Bill" Karman, age 81, lifetime resident of Kewaunee County, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, April 21, 2026 at the Grancare Nursing Center in Green Bay following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Bill was born in Manitowoc on April 4, 1945 to Joseph and Rosemary (Schadeberg) Karman. He graduated from Denmark High School with the class of 1963, and served many years as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. On September 7, 1968 he was united in marriage to Catherine Jansen at All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark. The couple was blessed with five children and 57 years of marriage. Bill owned & operated the family farm in Bolt for many years, during which time he also worked for Manitowoc Ship Building. He later went on to work as a cabinet installer for Wilco Cabinets of Green Bay until retiring after 20 years with the company. Throughout the years, Bill was very active in his church - St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, Tisch Mills, having served as President of the parish council and a longtime member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus; he enjoyed woodworking; and was an avid hunter. Bill always looked forward to gatherings with family, especially enjoying time spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy; his five children: Brenda (Jeffrey) Brown of Grayslake, IL, Richard (Rachelle) Karman of Luxemburg, Michael (Christine) Karman of Denmark, Mary (Kurt) Rozmarynoski of Waukesha, and Timothy Karman of West Bend; nine grandchildren: Emily Brown (fiance, Pete O'Connell), Grace Brown, Nicole Brown (special friend, Jeffrey Ventura), Tanner Karman, Austin Karman (special friend, Morgan Nasi), Athena Karman, Geneva Karman, Ethan Rozmarynoski, and Owen Rozmarynoski. He is further survived by one brother & sister-in-law, Roger and Peggy Karman; one sister, Kay Heim; and by two brothers-in-law & two sisters-in-law: Ken Koenig, Tulio Jansen, Linda Koenig, and Janice Jansen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rosemary Karman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Lucille Jansen; one sister, Karen Koenig; and several in-laws: Keith Heim, Doug Koenig, Judith Jansen, Darold Jansen, and Delano (Cynthia) Jansen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. Officiating at the memorial mass will be Rev. Dennis Drury and Deacon Dan Scheuer, with burial of his cremated remains to follow in the church cemetery. Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of American Legion Post #363 of Denmark.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills on Friday, May 1st from 9:00 a.m until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
