Wendy A. Lester

Wendy A. Lester, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday night, May 13, 2025.

Wendy was born in Manitowoc on April 4, 1952 to the late Paul and Alice (Jesse) Burdick and attended schools in Mishicot. She married Dean T. Lester on April 30, 1984 in Sturgeon Bay. Dean preceded her in death on September 6, 2023.

Wendy worked for many years as a housekeeper. In her free time, she was an avid bird watcher and loved identifying each bird she came across in her backyard. She also loved collecting dragonfly art and her favorite flower, daisies. Wendy also loved going camping with her beloved family.

Wendy is survived by her step-son, Russell Lester of Mishicot; daughter, Keri Karnopp (special friend, Chris Halstrom) of Green Bay; son, John Lester (special friend, Kristen Adams) of Sheboygan; daughter, Amanda Lester and six grandchildren: Brayden Karnopp, Kerissa Karnopp, Leilah Karnopp, Avery Czoske, Samara Fernandez-Lester, Kira Fernandez-Lester and a great-grandchild: Sonny Sanchez. She is further survived by her sisters: Donna (Jim) Flessert of Two Rivers, Sue (Robert) Cherney of Mishicot, and Linda (Russ) Olp of Two Rivers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; her parents, Paul and Alice Burdick; and one sister, Rachel Burdick.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S State Street, Mishicot, WI 54228, at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Scott Malme will preside at the service. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m.
