Susan K. "Susie" Reif

Susan K. "Susie" Reif, age 81, town of Buchanan resident, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, June 8, 2025 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, with family at her side.

Susie was born in Rhinelander, Wisconsin on May 15, 1944 to Edwin and Bernice (Stensrud) Scheidegger. She graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers with the class of 1962, and was united in marriage to Butch Reif at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Francis Creek on May 4, 1963. The couple was blessed with 62 years of marriage.

Over the years, Susie and Butch enjoyed traveling and vacationing together, fishing, golfing, and playing cards with family and friends. Susie also loved to read, crochet, and enjoyed baking and cooking, and the Silver Sneakers class at the YMCA. She was a sponsor and strong supporter of Al-Anon and through her involvement touched many lives. Most important to Susie was the time spent with family. Having family home and family get-togethers was what she looked forward to the most. Throughout her illness and final journey, she worried more about her family than herself, never wanting to be a burden to them. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Butch Reif; her children: Scott Reif of Berlin, Debbie (Todd) Stecker of Appleton, Amy Muehlbauer (special friend, Jon Day) of Brillion, and James (Jane) Reif of Appleton; proud grandmother of: Ashley Pringnitz, Trisha (Chris) Loewenhagen, Kelsey Muehlbauer, Sam and Meghan Stecker, and Jillian, Julia, and Joelle Reif; and great-grandma to: Madison and Axel Pringnitz, and Colton Loewenhagen. She is further survived by one sister, Carol Curby-Richardson; and many brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law which include: Robert Vanne, Joann Shillcox, Jean (Steve) Wacek, Tom (Sue) Reif, Doris (Brian) Johnson, Mike Reif, Rita (Bud) Hoffman, Ruth (Gary) Kobes, Bill (Lisa) Reif, John (Melody) Reif, and Theresa (Paul) Lambrecht; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bernice and Edwin Scheidegger; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Anita and Leroy Reif, Sr.; one sister, Bonita (Bonnie) Vanne; brothers-in-law: Elmer Curby, Roland Richardson, Dean Matthias, Gerald Shillcox, and Robert Reif; two sisters-in-law: Lillian Matthias and Julie Reif; one nephew, Kevin Curby; and three nieces: Patti Ann Kozaczuk, Jody Van Horn, and Jamie Reif.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Christian Raj, with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc at a later date.

Friends may call at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street, Mishicot, Friday evening June 13th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service led by Fr. Christian will conclude the visitation at 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Holy Cross Catholic Church Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m.
