Paul G. Bertler, age 72, town of Mishicot resident, passed away Monday evening, June 16, 2025, at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness.
Paul was born in Two Rivers on October 16, 1952, to Ralph and Helen (Sand) Bertler. He attended schools in Mishicot, graduating with the class of 1970 from Mishicot High School. He then furthered his education at Lakeshore Technical College.
For many years Paul operated the family business known by many as "Bertler's Berry Farm" as well as a liquor and candy store located on Highway 147 - offering strawberries, produce & vegetables, x-mas trees, bulk candy and liquor. Paul eventually retired from Federal-Mogul of Manitowoc. He was sponsor for many area softball and bowling teams over the years, and he also enjoyed bowling and playing cards, especially cribbage.
Survivors include two sisters & a brother-in-law: Carol Arkens and Jean (Steve) Bohacek, all of rural Two Rivers; special nieces & nephews: Craig (Diane) Arkens, Curt (Elizabeth) Arkens, Tina (Tim) Vos, Kate (Joe) Beckwith, Sara (Ryan) Van Driel, and Elizabeth Bohacek (Jenny Karnitz); great-nieces and great-nephews include: Wyatt, Carson, Porter, Miles, Olivia, Benson, Logan, Reese, Reagan; and his special dog, Scooter. Paul is also survived by 'extended family' from Marco in Manitowoc where he touched many lives and treasured special friendships. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Helen Bertler; a brother-in-law, John Arkens; and special aunt, Ethel Sand.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Rev. Christian Raj will preside at the memorial mass.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Cross Catholic Church Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
