Obituary

Martin John Posvic, age 79, passed away peacefully on Jan 2, 2026, with the love of his family and comforting arms of our Lord.

Martin (Marty) was born on June 17, 1946, the first-born son, to the late Vincent and Elaine Posvic and Anamae (Kelliher) Posvic.

Marty grew up in and around the Mishicot, WI area. He thrived in many different areas of life, from the bean pickers at Lakeside to tinkering with woodwork, to that red Willy Nelson bandana he pulled off so well, to howling at the moon or dancing the night away and teaching the kids the art of the cuss word! But his ultimate love, pride and legacy will always be his family.

Marty married his one time love Renee Kintgen at the Methodist church in Mishicot. Together they created a family with a lifetime of memories. Along with his step-son Todd Kintgen, he became the proud father to a daughter Tara Jo Posvic. Though that family dynamic changed, and not always evident, his love and pride for his kids was always his truth.

Marty will be missed by many. The eldest in a large family tree, though sometimes fun, sometimes difficult, sometimes gentle, his unique personality will be in stories passed down.

Marty is survived by: the light of his world, his daughter and soon to be son in law Tara Jo and Tony Waite. Grandchildren: Devin Posvic, Logan Waite, Maci Waite, Jasmine Kintgen, Kolyn Kintgen, Kolton Kintgen. 5 brothers and 1 sister in law: David and Sue Posvic, John Posvic, Mark Posvic, Mike Posvic and Jeff Posvic. 8 sisters and 6 brothers in law: Clarence Klein, Diane and Danny Loeh, Nancy Klein, Betty Denton, Sandy and Todd Jaeger, Debbie and Mike Jaeger, Sherri Posvic and Mark Funk, Tammy Schmidt, Julie and Danny Valenta. Marty will also be missed by so many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his best friend Dan Buck.

Marty was preceded in death by his mother Anamae, his father and step-mother Vincent and Elaine Posvic, 1 step son Todd Kintgen, 1 sister Kathy Klein, 1 brother Vincent Posvic Jr, 1 sister-in-law Lori Posvic, 2 brothers in law Dennis Klein and Jerry Denton.

A celebration of life will be held on Jan. 18, 2026 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Mishicot VFW.

Marty’s family would like to thank the staff at Afiyah Home LLC, and the hospice nurses at Moments Hospice for their continued care!

Also a Thank You to the staff at Lambert Eckert Funeral Home for their help and guidance in planning his final wishes.
