Judith M. “Judy” Petska, age 94, longtime resident of the town of Gibson, died in the early hours of Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Complete Care nursing home in Manitowoc.
Judy was born on August 1, 1931, to the late Edwin and Camilla (Swetlik) Chaloupka. She graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1949.
She worked for many years at Mirro, working as a receiving’s clerk.
On November 15, 1949, Judy was united in marriage to Joseph Petska at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1987.
Judy and Joe were very avid Polka music fans, they travelled all over the country attending Polka festivals together. Judy was also an excellent bowler; she bowled on leagues for many years. Judy also enjoyed playing sheepshead.
She is survived by her children, Mark and Mary Petska, Mary Garrison, Thomas and Patti Petska; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Lorraine (Harold) Krummel; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a son, Terry (Sheri) Petska, her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Tillie Petska, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Leo Kondru, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
There will be no Monday evening visitation.
