Obituary

Jean M. Wavrunek, 56, found eternal peace with family at her side on April 27, 2026, after a lifelong struggle with allergy related (Eosinophilic) Asthma.

Jean was born to the late Bernard and Caroline Ledvina formerly of Mishicot, on March 17, 1970. She attended Holy Cross School in grades 1-8 where she first developed her love for Jesus. She attended Mishicot High School and graduated in 1988 with honors. She then went on to UW Oshkosh and graduated in December 1993 with an MBA in Accounting. She became a CPA in October 2000, and started her career as an accountant, at Halron Oil and later Semfuel and Insight FS with her most current employment at Growmark Inc. She was blessed when she met Chris Wavrunek and they were married on January 31, 2004. They lived their life on the Wavrunek Family home farm and had two wonderful sons Seth and Aaron. She loved to spend time with her family, and God and family were most important to her. She had a passion for sewing and gardening- and enjoyed starting the tomato plants from seed for their garden. She also enjoyed canning and cooking especially, chocolate chip cookies, mathunky, as well as making food from scratch and family recipes. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved Christmas music.

She had a strong Catholic faith and taught CCD in Mishicot and Tisch Mills from the late 1990’s until her children were confirmed. Her faith continued to grow and she was always praying. The UW transplant team called her their “Sweet Angel”.

Survivors include her wonderful husband of 22 years, Chris; and their two sons she loved so dearly Seth and Aaron. Eight siblings: Mary (Jim) Kracht, Laura Phillips and (special friend Brian), Julie (Tom) Bruckschen, Kathy Ploor, Faye (Terry) Spindler, Larry (Stacy) Ledvina, Bonnie (Jim) DeJardin and Edward (Nicole) Ledvina.

Further survived by her mother-in-law, Christal Wavrunek; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Sam Wavrunek (S.O. Scott), Jessie (Tom) Lambert and Zach (Beth) Wavrunek as well as other aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by: parents, Bernard and Caroline Ledvina; father-in-law, Deacon Robert “Bob” Wavrunek; grandparents, aunts, uncles, two nephews and two brother’s-in-law.

Family and Friends may visit on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 9:30-11:45 am at St. James Catholic Church, 18228 County Rd R, Denmark, WI 54208.
