Donnie entered the arms of his loving Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on June the 20th, year of our Lord 2026-AD. and was reunited with his parents the late David Charles Henry Jaeger and Carol Mae Loeh Jaeger. He was also reunited with his brother Charles and all the family’s loved ones who have gone on before.
Donnie was born on May the 1st of 1979 and born again through his baptism into the Christian faith at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Mishicot.
Donnie was born a child of special needs. He attended the Riverview School system in his younger years. During his youth doctors and specialists told Donnie’s parents he wouldn’t live past his teens. Donnie was cared for primarily by his mother before her passing in 2005, then by his father (until his passing in 2015) and also his sister Patti who has been Donnie’s constant for more than 20-years. Because of love and care Donnie lived to celebrate 47-years here on this earthly journey. Donnie loved old western movies, and movies full of action. He loved getting to sip an old fashioned when family would share one with him. He also loved watching his nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews, as they grew up and goofed around. Those things at times would have him laughing and it could be a very infectious laugh. Donnie also loved joining hands with family when we would come together and pray before meals. Donnie may have had special needs but because of that he taught those around him who cared for him, or came in contact with him - compassion and empathy.
Scripture in Psalms tell us: For you God created my inmost being: you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Donnie is survived by his sister and caregiver Patti Petska and her husband Thomas (Tom); he is also survived by seven other siblings and their spouses: Steven (Steve) and Jackie Jaeger, Michael (Mike) and Debra (Debbie) Jaeger, Lori Ann (Lori) and Steven (Steve) Schmidt, Todd and Sandy Jaeger, John Jaeger, Randolph (Randy) and Carrie Jaeger, Kristine and James (Jim) Budnik. He is also survived by eighteen nieces and nephews; nineteen great-nieces and nephews; and one more on the way. Aunts and Uncles: Daniel and Diane Loeh, Beatrice Jaeger, Darlene Dey, Carol Jaeger#3, and Ronald and Carol Jaeger#2.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, David and Carol Jaeger#1; his brother Charles David Jaeger; a nephew, Tyler Seefeldt; his paternal grandparents, Herman and Hattie (Klemens) Jaeger; and his maternal grandparents, Henry and Adeline (Worel) Loeh. He was also preceded by aunts and uncles: Robert Jaeger, Marlin Dey, Donald Jaeger, Donald and Shirley Tuschel and Henry and Jane Loeh.
Although we mourn at this time, we rejoice in the fact that Donnie was a child of God and is now free of the body that trapped him on this earthly journey. Today, we know Donnie is walking with his Lord Jesus Christ, his parents, and others while they sing the praises of our Heavenly Father. To God be the glory!
The family would also like to thank those who assisted the family during Donnie’s final days. The wonderful, kind, caring compassionate staff at Froedtert/Holy Family Hospital, especially the CCU; the Mishicot Area Ambulance; Maribel First Responders; and the Orange Cross for transporting Donnie home for his final days; and finally, Community Care Hospice.
Donnie’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street in Mishicot. Pastor Joel Stuebs will officiate at the service with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery in the township of Gibson, where Donnie will be laid to rest alongside his parents. There will be a visitation held at Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home on Monday the 29th from 4 until 7pm, and also prior to the service on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
