Delores E. Dworak, age 88, went to be with the Lord late Friday evening, August 8, 2025.
Delores was born in Clintonville, WI on October 19, 1936, to Carl and Elsie (Redeker) Steinke. The family then moved to Baileys Harbor where she grew up. She was a graduate of Gibraltar High School with the class of 1954. She then attended teacher’s college at D K Normal school in Algoma, graduating from there in 1956. Delores taught school for two years in Shoto.
On June 7, 1958, Delores was united in marriage to Robert Dworak at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor. The couple then moved to Two Creeks where they farmed for many years together. Robert preceded her in death on September 24, 2013.
Delores was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Two Creeks since 1959. She taught Sunday school for over 12 years. She was a member of St. John’s Dorcas Society for 42 years.
In her free time, she loved to read her Bible and learn about history, she also enjoyed gardening and playing games and trivia.
Delores is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Stephen) Bauknecht; a son-in-law, Michael Sinkula; her grandchildren, Zachary (Anna) Bauknecht, Nicole (Robert) Jacques, Kasara Sinkula (Ryan Barndt), Benjamin (Shannon) Sinkula; her great-grandchildren, Maja Bauknecht and Benedict Jacques. Many nieces and nephews also survive, as well as a very special friend, Sandy Malchek and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dworak, her parents Carl and Elsie Steinke, a daughter, Barbara Sinkula, and her siblings, Arwin Steinke, Irene (Ralph) Piel, and Phyllis (Emery) Strege.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 16904 County Road Q, Mishicot, WI, Rev. James Heffner will preside at the service, with burial to follow in Mishicot Public Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.
