Dale Frederick Wendt, 65, of rural Denmark entered into eternal rest on Wednesday evening, February 25th, surrounded by his children and loved ones.

Dale was born on March 3rd 1960, to Harry and Janet (Bloedorn) Wendt. He attended Denmark Schools graduating in 1978.

Dale married Lynne Susan Bergelin on June 20th, 1981, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Gibson.

Besides being a proud long-time member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. Dale was a jack of all trades, and rarely ever shied away from a challenging job. He helped on neighbors’ farms, drove milk truck, did roofing, logging, and cut more firewood than we care to remember.

In his younger years, Dale enjoyed playing baseball, shooting pool and darts in various leagues, playing cards and snowmobiling. He went on a few fishing trips to Canada with the guys and also enjoyed deer hunting with his kids. In recent years he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his five children: Shaun (special friend Lea Ann) Wendt, Jennifer (Nathan) Peterson, Craig (Tiffany) Wendt, Brandon (Cassie) Wendt, and Kimberly (fiancé Brandon) Wendt. Five grandchildren: Jonathan Peterson, Olivia and Axel Wendt, and Jack and Macy Wendt. Seven brothers and four sisters: Mark (Judy) Wendt, Julie Wendt, Dinah (Dave) Johnsen, Roy (Dawn) Wendt, Bruce Wendt, Janice Chervenka, Scott Wendt, Gary (Heidi) Wendt, Wayne (Debbie) Wendt, Gene Wendt and June (Chris) Jandrin. Brothers in laws and sisters in law: Harold “Butch” (Belinda) Bergelin, Brian Bergelin and Brenda (Gregg) Siebold. Nieces, nephews, and many friends survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Janet, his wife, Lynne, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Marcella Bergelin, brothers-in-law, Timothy Bergelin and Norbert Chervenka, and great nephew, Nathan Chervenka.

Visitation for Dale will be held at Lambert Eckert funeral home on Wednesday, March 4th from 4:00-7:00 pm and on Thursday, March 5th from 9:00-11:00 am at St John’s in Gibson with funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor James Heffner.
