Charles J. "Chuck" Hoffman, age 76, longtime Mishicot resident, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, October 11, 2025 at his residence.
Chuck was born in Two Rivers on August 22, 1949 to Harold and Eva (Gauthier) Hoffman. He graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1967. On June 10, 1972 he was united in marriage to Karen M. Pleuss at First Reformed United Church of Christ in Manitowoc. Over the years, Chuck held various employment positions which included Michels Pipeline, Manitowoc Tractor Sales, TDS (Telephone Data Systems), City of Two Rivers Firefighter/EMT, and he owned & operated Chuck Hoffman Electric. His longest period of employment was working as Buildings & Grounds Supervisor for the Mishicot Public School District until retiring. He was currently working as a State Electrical Inspector.
Chuck remained very involved throughout his lifetime in his community, church, and organizations. He was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and served the church in many capacities; 3rd degree - Life member of the Knights of Columbus; active member of the Two Rivers Fish & Game Association, and the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association. He served as a longtime member of the Mishicot Area Fire Department & Ambulance Service; served as Town Chairman & Supervisor for the Town of Mishicot; and Manitowoc County Board member for the 20th district. Never able to sit still, Chuck enjoyed working in his woods in "the back 40", breakfast with friends, and an occasional visit to the casino. He also loved hunting, fishing, and was always ready for a game of cribbage. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and was always willing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; one daughter, Rebekah Sickler of Milwaukee; one granddaughter, Eva Sickler; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Kay and Ralph Nooker, and Martin Quam; one sister-in-law, Betty Hoffman; and uncle & aunt, Glenn and Elaine Gauthier. He is further survived by additional brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Mark (Nancy) Pleuss, Jilleen (Carl) Neumann; nieces & nephews: Miki Gould, Joseph (Jennifer) Hoffman, Kim Hoffman, Brian (Kari) Nowak, Tom (Kelli) Nowak, Jackie (Andrew) Augustine, Tristan Quam, Arthur Quam, Deanna Duray, Dennis (Ginger) Pleuss, Julia (Steve) Binder, and Carl (Jennifer) Neumann; along with great-nieces and nephews; one great great niece, and one great great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Eva Hoffman; one brother, Roy Hoffman; two sisters & a brother-in-law: Sue (Tom) Nowak, and Lou Ann Hoffman; and father & mother-in-law, Herbert and Kathryn Pleuss.
Funeral services will be held at 12 o'clock Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Leo Kondru, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc at a later date.
Friends may call at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street, Mishicot Friday evening, October 17th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church Saturday morning from 9:00 until 11:45 a.m.
