Aileen B. Zachek, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay with her loving family at her side. Aileen was a lifelong resident of Tisch Mills, and a current resident of Linden Manor in Kewaunee.
Aileen was born in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, on March 13, 1931, to the late Adolph and Stella (Skubal) Thor.
On February 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald Zachek at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Norman. The couple was blessed with 70 years of marriage. Donald preceded her in death on December 1, 2020.
Aileen worked at Mirro Aluminum Co., Two Rivers and later in Manitowoc for many years, retiring in 1993.
She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. In her free time, Aileen enjoyed traveling, trips to the casinos, and baking, especially her well-loved rye bread. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Aileen is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Al Kohnle of Loves Park, IL, Lois and John Schultz of Kewaunee, Sandra and Roger Novak of Mishicot; grandchildren, Jeff Kohnle (Karen Schwind), Nathan (Danette) Kohnle, Mike (Sarah) Kohnle, Erin (Jason) Jerabek, Holly (Tom) Schreiber, Emily (Marco) Avalos; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Reese, Gabrielle Kohnle, Sean, Nora, Rachel Jerabek, and Penelope Schreiber. Other relatives and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, Adolph and Stella, and her husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by, a sister, Adeline (Victor) Novak, and an infant sister, Grace; brothers, Alvin (Mary) Thor, Adolph (Mary) Thor, Archie (Loretta) Thor; a brother-in-law, Laddie Zachek; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Zachek; and a godson, Marvin Zachek. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Anton and Josephine Zachek.
A funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dennis Drury. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. Burial of both Aileen and Donald’s cremated remains will follow immediately in the parish cemetery.
